Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan an autonomous body under Ministry of HRD, Govt of India came into existence and acquired its name after being registered as a society under societies Registration Act 1860 on 15th December 1965.
 
The KVS envisages to provide uninterrupted education with common text books, curriculum through bilingual medium of instruction, i.e English & Hindi with the most advanced and latest methodology of teaching learning to the children of transferable and non transferable employees of central govt. including defense personnel.

KVS has a four fold mission viz:- To cater to the educational needs of children of transferable Central Government employees including defence and para military personnel by providing a common programme of education. (Explanatory Note)

To pursue excellence and set the pace in the field of school education.

To initiate and promote experimentations and innovations in education in collaboration with other bodies like CBSE, NCERT, etc.
